Who Sent You

We all know when some people have natural flair in any arena. You can see it in music, sports, comedy, business, debate, and even preaching.

Some people are gifted. Some people are sharp. Some people can talk. Some people can move a room.

But that still does not mean God sent them.

Scripture says:

“How shall they preach, except they be sent?” — Romans 10:15

That one verse destroys a lot of church celebrity culture.

A man can have talent and still be unauthorized.
A man can have charisma and still be corrupt.
A man can have Bible vocabulary and still mishandle the Word.
A man can draw a crowd and still not be sent by God.

I’ll say the ugly part out loud:

A whole lot of fake poser preachers helped mess up the Word in people’s minds.

Not because the Bible failed.
Not because God failed.
Because unsent men got microphones, pulpits, titles, platforms, and followers.

And no, I’m not discrediting anybody’s natural ability.

Some of these men are talented.
Some can speak.
Some can entertain.
Some can debate.
Some know how to dress it up.

But talent is not the same as being sent.

The test is not “Can he preach?”
The test is “Who sent him?”
The test is “What gospel is he carrying?”
The test is “Does he fear God or just know how to work people?”

Jeremiah 23 already warned us about men running when God did not send them.

So yes, I believe a large portion of what people call preaching today is not men sent by God. It is religious performance, emotional manipulation, brand-building, and spiritual cosplay.

A real preacher does not improve God’s Word.
He submits to it.

A real preacher does not make himself the authority.
He points back to the Word.

A real preacher does not use the sheep.
He feeds them.

Gifted does not mean sent.

Remember that.

Scripture to back it:

  • Romans 10:15“How shall they preach, except they be sent?”
Main anchor. Preaching requires sending, not just talent.
  • Jeremiah 23:21“I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran...”
God directly condemns religious speakers operating without His sending.
  • Matthew 7:15–20 — false prophets are known by their fruits.
Not by charisma. Not by crowd size. Fruit exposes them.
  • 2 Corinthians 11:13–15 — false apostles can appear righteous.
Meaning a polished spiritual image can still be counterfeit.
  • Galatians 1:8–9 — anyone preaching another gospel is cursed.
The message matters more than the man’s stage power.
  • 2 Timothy 4:3–4 — people heap up teachers who satisfy itching ears.
Fake preachers survive because fake appetites keep feeding them.

The Gospel is simple.

Not weak.
Not shallow.
Not childish.
Simple.

Christ died for our sins.
He was buried.
He rose again the third day. Seen by over 500 .
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved.

God is not the author of confusion.

So when somebody takes the simplicity of Christ and turns it into a maze of church games, family traditions, preacher worship, title chasing, emotional manipulation, and man-made authority — you need to stop and ask one question:

Who sent you?

Because your granddad could be wrong.
Your grandmother could be wrong.
Your daddy could be wrong.
Your mama could be wrong.
Your uncle could be wrong.
Your auntie could be wrong.
Your older siblings could be wrong.
Your cousin could be wrong.
Your patna could be wrong.

Everybody you love can be sincere and still be wrong.

That is why the Word has to be the authority.

Not the family tree.
Not the church building.
Not the preacher’s voice.
Not the robe.
Not the platform.
Not the crowd.
Not the tradition.

The Gospel is not broke.

The preachers are.
The teachers are.
The performers are.
The posers are.
The people who ran without being sent are.

So keep your eyes on Christ.
Keep your Bible open.
Keep your discernment alive.

Because gifted does not mean sent.

And if God did not send you, sit down.

A microphone does not prove a mantle.
A platform does not prove a calling.
And talent does not mean God sent you.
